Ding Dong
It drives me crazy when the blogs I like to read are updated so rarely, but I'm really bad at updating mine as well. I dunno- I got nuthin'. I'm just working away- getting the Roq together for this year as well as planning out BLVD. Plus the book stuff. Over the holidays I basically sat on my butt and watched movies...it wasn't terribly exciting. I did go see King Kong which I initially had a few reservations about but it kicked ass. Plus- the whole Kong getting taken out wrecked me for the whole last hour of the film- tears were pouring down my face and I actually had to bite my tongue hard to keep from blurting out a big ol'boo hoo...it was embarrassing because I totally lost my shit- but the story resonated with me so deeply because of the animal work I've been doing lately. The welfare of animals and the vicious, ghastly way we treat them makes it hard for me to really look the whole animal rights thing in the face, every hurt and mistreated creature I see makes me want to throw up and just makes me lose so much faith in humanity, to where it really scalds my soul a bit and makes me really dispondent. But, it you want to affect any kind of change you have to look at that stuff. So anyway- the story of a majestic, magical creature being shot to shreds harshed my mellow, especially after I was so jacked up by an epic dinosaur fight scene. Because if I loves me something, it is some sweet, sweet dinosaur battles. I guess I just don't have that sentimental streak for dinos.
