Paint It White And They Will Come
Although I'm pretty bad about actally getting out and SEEING them- I love it when people create unconventional art spaces. These guys made a gallery out of an office space. When people complain about not having a venue to exhibit in- I tell them to paint their garage white- call it "Garage Gallery" and have a party. People will go almost anywhere to have a beverage and see some new art.
Hong Kong Disney World refuses to take shark fin soup off their menu. What a bunch of greedy numbnuts. Sharks are rapidly becoming greatly endangered due to the shark fin trade. The sharks are caught- their fins sliced off- and dumped back into the ocean to die a miserable death- just so some lousy jerk can have fancy soup.
It's hard to pick your battles sometimes- because no matter what you do- somebody or something is probably getting exploited...but this seems like one of the stupider things that doesn't need to happen.
My pal Rick is on fire! Not much is more exhilarating that people who are excited about stuff. I stole this off his site.

Kenny Gets Drilled
A few days ago K dropped in on some ink courtesy our pal Rev. Eric Eye at Lucky Devil. He spent 6 hours under the needle getting the outline of his sleeve done. Me and the boy sure loves us some tattoos!

Hot damn- looks like Seattle is getting a Trader Vic's! Too bad it's actually going to be in Bellevue. My tiki pursuant companions and I will end up being the reverse bridge and tunnel set. (Belltown gets all the outlying areas frattish junior executives on the make and their prey, 20 something hairdressers complete with huge blonde streaks, dark tans, low rise jeans with fat rolls peeking out the top, and a tramp stamp.

We just got back from the "Pop Surrealism" show in Colorado. It was great. Great turnout- the show looked good. I'm too dang tired to comment much- so I'll just post some pix...

Work by Ausgang and Shag

Work by Mark Ryden, Gary Baseman, and Ausgang

Work by Glenn Barr, Isabel Samaras, and Camille Rose Garcia

Painting by Todd Schorr- This was the showstopper...
