Atkins is not for vegetarians.
I decided that I need to shed a little lard, I'll be damned if I look like I have a fat ass for my wedding...my friend sold me on Atkins- I was especially intrieged by the prospect of quick results. I read the book and set up my plan...the problem is that this diet really is for meat eaters (I know, duh)...if you eat meat it's probably really great,and everything I read actually seemed fairly sound.. but I found I couldn't substitute tofu for the protien, I had to take it out of my measly carb allowance..(meaning I felt like I was starving) I do eat eggs (which you have tons of) though I don't like them very much. I started yesterday, and I felt great eating no sugar or bread...I had mass energy...and that was just ONE DAY. Today when I woke up I felt nauseous, not hungry (at least not for eggs and cheese), and I actually had the shakes for crying out loud. You are supposed to go through wheat and sugar withdrawals so I guess that was part of it (after one day though?) I can't do it. I'm seriously bummed, but I know I can also just knock off the refined sugar and bread and with going to the gym I will probably be fine.So no miracle diet for me. I sad.
